Who Is Paul Tobais?
Paul Tobias is a childhood friend of Axl Rose. He co-wrote "Back Off pregnant dog" and played rhythm guitar in "Sympathy For The Devil". He officially joined Guns n Roses in 1994. He is sometimes known as "Paul Huge".
Paul Tobias played live in concert at Las Vegas Hall Of Blues, Rock In Rio III, and the two Las Vegas 2001 concerts.
Regarding Paul Tobias, here's what Axl said in a august 14th 2002 official press release: "The original intentions between Paul and myself were that Paul was going to help me for as long as it took to get this thing together in whatever capacity that he could help me in....Paul was one of the best people we knew who was both available and capable of complimenting Slash's style."
Paul Tobias was replaced by Richard Fortus in summer 2002.
Here's what Axl Rose had to say about it in a august 14th 2002 official press release: "Paul helped us a lot in the writing and the recording of this record and to me was a vital part of not only the band but also my life. The world tour really wasn't his cup of tea whereas he's much more comfortable in a studio setting. We're fortunate to have found Richard who has this vibe kind of like Izzy but with amazing feel."
