I think that he thought he should have a hat being the new gnr lead guitarist (kfc bucket) on his head because Slash wore his top hat.

Probably, but i think it makes him look quite cool sometimes and quite stupid other times, its like a Slipknot kinda thing, we've never seen his face (well i have its hideous) but i think it party proves how good he is, if he can play the Gnr songs with a bucket on his head including the solo's then hes got to be good.
